A Farmer’s Hoe

A farmer’s hoe is used to shape soil for planting, remove weeds, clearing the soil by removing debris, and harvesting root crops. It is a work tool which helps the farmer prepare the soil so the plants can grow and produce a healthy harvest. Hoeing is hard work. It requires patience attending to each plant one at a time ensuring the plant is cared for so it will produce fruit.
A missionary’s work is similar to a farmer’s hoeing his crop. It requires time and patience. It requires walking with people one by one sowing good seed and with the Holy Spirit’s help, weeding out the things that would prevent the person from producing fruit. Just recently, we had a mother touch the life of her unborn child. Because of our relationship with her, she trusted us enough to confess what she had done. With broken hearts, we take our tools and minister to her with truth combined with love and mercy.
Like the farmer, we are getting our hoes ready for another year of planting. Would you prayerfully consider supporting the ministries of Exodus House in 2018? You can pray. You can give monthly or a one-time gift. As with the farmer’s hoe, your gifts allow us to minister and purchase the tools necessary to plant and sow preparing for another crop!

James 5:7, “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.”
